Molly Holmberg Brown

After three degrees in Geography, Molly maintains that hand-drawn map-making remains the most direct way for her to support meaningful connections to place. The idea for MollyMaps began during a Watson Fellowship (2001) where she traveled around the world offering hand-drawn maps to communities and organizations in exchange for support in exploring remote landscapes on foot. Maps have been the focus of her education at Middlebury College, University of British Columbia, and the University of Colorado. It is her hope that through this contingent practice, she can continue to bring herself and others into a more engaged envisioning of place.
