Fugazi, our big choruses, I just wanted people to sing. When people sing together one hopes there’s a moment simultaneous shamelessness that we can feel safe in our expression. I’ve often thought that one of the great things about being in a band is that you can make a fool of yourself on stage, because you’re closer to being free. I think that when I’m really struck by music and find myself singing I realise – I’m in. I’m part of the show.
